Cradled by the Bay of Biscay

Euskadi (the Basque Country) is a small country covering 7,234 km2, lapped by the Bay of Biscay. Two hours provide sufficient time for travelling from north to south, or from east to west, to discover the virtues of this small region and its capital cities. Such dimensions have ensured that its inhabitants have developed a very close and collaborative relationship with each other.

Its geography lends it a diverse, and at the same time benevolent, climate. Its mountains and valleys are coloured with green hues, enhanced by marshlands, cliffs, beaches and the blue Bay of Biscay. This combination has had a significant influence on this region’s inhabitants and has forged both their way of being and their personality.
